Overview
Hoglet is a personal voice reflection app. This privacy policy explains what data Hoglet collects, how it is used, what is saved after a reflection, and how users can delete their data.
Hoglet is designed around short voice reflection sessions, saved summaries, mood and theme insights, memories, follow-ups, subscriptions, and support. Full transcripts are used only during active reflections and are deleted once the reflection is complete.
Who operates Hoglet
Hoglet is operated by an independent developer based in New Zealand.
Questions about this policy or personal data can be sent to support@hoglet.fyi.
Data Hoglet collects or processes
Hoglet collects or processes the data needed to provide voice reflections, create summaries, show insights, maintain useful continuity between reflections, manage subscriptions, and keep the app working reliably.
- Account and authentication data, such as user identifiers and email address information provided through sign-in.
- Microphone audio during active voice reflection sessions, so Hoglet can process what the user says and respond during the conversation.
- Temporary transcript turns during active reflection sessions. These are used to create reflection outputs and are deleted once the reflection is complete.
- Reflection summaries, including summaries for individual conversations and daily summaries built from completed reflections.
- Moods, sentiment, emotional tone, themes, and patterns extracted from completed reflections.
- Memories and related context, such as important details, recurring topics, goals, concerns, preferences, and events the user may want Hoglet to remember for future reflections.
- Follow-ups created from reflections, including items the user may want to revisit later.
- Subscription, purchase entitlement, and reflection minute balance data used to manage access to voice reflection sessions.
- Diagnostics, errors, and reliability data used to troubleshoot problems, protect the service, and keep the app working safely.
How Hoglet uses data
Hoglet uses personal data to provide the features users choose to use.
- Run voice reflection sessions and allow the assistant to respond during active conversations.
- Create summaries of completed reflections and daily summaries built from those reflections.
- Extract moods, sentiment, themes, patterns, memories, and follow-ups from completed reflections.
- Help future reflections build on important details the user has previously shared.
- Show reflection history, mood movement, recurring themes, patterns, memories, and follow-ups in the app.
- Manage subscriptions, entitlements, and reflection minute balances.
- Provide support, diagnose errors, improve reliability, and help keep the app secure.
Microphone, transcripts, and reflection sessions
Hoglet uses microphone access only when a user starts a voice reflection session. Microphone audio is processed during the active session so the voice assistant can understand and respond to the conversation.
During an active reflection, Hoglet may create temporary transcript turns from the conversation. These transcripts are used to generate the reflection summary, moods, sentiment, themes, memories, follow-ups, and related context.
Hoglet does not keep a full transcript archive. Once the reflection is complete and the relevant reflection outputs have been created, the full transcript is deleted.
What Hoglet saves after a reflection
After a reflection is complete, Hoglet saves the parts that make the reflection history useful, rather than saving the full transcript.
- Conversation summaries and daily summaries.
- Moods, sentiment, emotional tone, themes, and patterns.
- Memories and related context that help future reflections build on what the user has shared before.
- Follow-ups the user may want to revisit later.
- Reflection history and timestamps needed to show past reflections and trends.
Data sharing and service providers
Hoglet may use trusted service providers to operate authentication, realtime AI voice processing, data storage, subscription management, diagnostics, error reporting, and customer support.
These providers process data only as needed to provide their services to Hoglet. Hoglet does not sell personal data.
Some providers may process data in countries other than the user's country of residence. Where required, Hoglet relies on appropriate safeguards for those transfers.
Subscriptions and reflection minutes
Hoglet uses subscription and purchase entitlement data to manage access to voice reflection sessions and to show remaining reflection minute balances.
Saved reflection history remains available after a subscription ends. An active subscription is only required to start new voice reflection sessions.
Data deletion and user rights
Users can delete their Hoglet data from settings, including reflection history, summaries, moods, themes, memories, follow-ups, and related context.
Starting deletion permanently removes the selected personal reflection data from Hoglet. Some limited records may be retained where needed for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, purchase management, or service operations.
Users can also contact support@hoglet.fyi to ask privacy questions or request help with their data.
Data retention
Hoglet keeps saved reflection data for as long as the account remains active or until the user deletes it, unless a longer retention period is required for legal, security, billing, or operational reasons.
Temporary full transcripts are deleted once the reflection is complete. Diagnostics and reliability records may be kept for a limited period to troubleshoot issues and keep the app secure.
Children's privacy
Hoglet is not intended for children. If the operator learns that a child has provided personal data without appropriate consent, the operator will take steps to delete that data in accordance with applicable requirements.
Policy updates
This policy may be updated as Hoglet changes, launches new features, or confirms final service providers and legal details. The last updated date will be revised whenever the policy changes.
