Overview
These Terms of Use govern your access to Hoglet's app, website, account, and voice reflection service. By creating an account, signing in, or using Hoglet, you agree to these Terms.
You must be at least 18 years old or the age of majority where you live, whichever is higher, to use Hoglet. If you do not meet that requirement or do not agree to these Terms, do not use the service.
Who provides Hoglet
Hoglet is provided by an independent developer based in New Zealand. References to Hoglet, the operator, we, or us in these Terms mean the independent developer operating the service.
Questions, complaints, or claims about Hoglet can be sent to support@hoglet.fyi.
Eligibility and accounts
Hoglet is an adult general-audience service. By continuing with Apple or Google sign-in, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old or the age of majority where you live, whichever is higher.
You are responsible for keeping access to your Apple or Google account secure and for activity carried out through your Hoglet account. Do not share access in a way that allows another person to use Hoglet under your identity.
If Hoglet learns that an account belongs to an ineligible minor, the operator may stop providing the service for that account and handle its data in accordance with the Privacy Policy and applicable law.
What Hoglet provides
Hoglet is a personal voice reflection and journaling service. It lets you have a real-time voice conversation and creates saved outputs such as reflection summaries, moods, themes, memories, notes, and patterns across earlier reflections.
Hoglet does not provide therapy, medical care, crisis support, legal or financial advice, or other professional services. It is not designed to diagnose conditions or replace a qualified professional. If you or someone else may be in immediate danger, contact local emergency services.
Your reflections and data
You retain any rights you have in the words and other personal material you provide to Hoglet. You give the operator permission to process that material only as needed to provide, secure, maintain, and support the service as described in the Privacy Policy.
You are responsible for what you choose to say or save. Do not provide material that you do not have the right to use, or use Hoglet to infringe another person's rights.
AI processing and outputs
Hoglet uses artificial intelligence to participate in voice reflections and generate reflection outputs. AI responses and generated outputs can be incomplete, inaccurate, or unsuitable for your circumstances.
Use your own judgment before relying on an output or acting on it. Do not rely on Hoglet as the sole source for an important decision or for professional advice. You remain responsible for decisions and actions you take after using the service.
Subscriptions and billing
Hoglet may provide free reflection minutes and paid subscription plans. The allowance, price, renewal period, and other purchase terms shown in the app and App Store at the time of purchase apply to that transaction. Unless stated otherwise, unused monthly reflection minutes do not roll over.
Purchases are processed by Apple. Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel them through your Apple Account settings before the renewal deadline shown by Apple. Apple handles payment processing and refund requests under its applicable rules.
Ending a subscription stops future renewals but does not automatically delete saved reflection data. An active subscription or another available minute allowance may be required to start a new voice reflection.
Acceptable use
You may use Hoglet only lawfully, for its intended personal reflection purpose.
- Do not use Hoglet to break the law, threaten or deliberately harm another person, or violate another person's rights.
- Do not attempt to gain unauthorised access to another account, the service, or its supporting systems.
- Do not interfere with, overload, probe, scrape, or circumvent security, access, usage, or subscription controls.
- Do not copy, modify, reverse engineer, resell, or redistribute the app except where applicable law or the Apple licence expressly allows it.
- Do not use automated access or the service to develop or operate a competing product without written permission.
App licence and Apple terms
The licence for the iOS app is governed by Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement unless the App Store displays another licence. These Terms separately govern your Hoglet account and access to the Hoglet service.
You must also follow applicable Apple terms and any third-party terms that apply to your device, network, account, or use of the service.
Third-party services
Hoglet relies on third-party services for authentication, AI processing, hosting, diagnostics, subscriptions, and other operations. Those providers may apply their own terms to services they provide directly to you.
The operator is not responsible for third-party services outside Hoglet's control, but remains responsible for Hoglet's own obligations under applicable law.
Availability and changes
Hoglet may change, suspend, or discontinue features to maintain, secure, or improve the service, respond to legal requirements, or manage third-party dependencies. The operator does not promise that every feature will always be available or uninterrupted.
Reasonable steps will be taken to avoid unnecessary loss of access to saved reflection data, but you should not treat Hoglet as the only place to keep information you cannot afford to lose.
Suspension and ending use
You may stop using Hoglet at any time, delete personal reflection data while keeping your account, or permanently delete your entire Hoglet account through the controls described in the Privacy Policy.
Subscription cancellation, personal-data deletion, and account deletion are separate actions. Deleting a Hoglet account does not cancel a subscription managed by Apple.
The operator may restrict or suspend access when reasonably necessary to address a serious or repeated breach of these Terms, protect users or the service, comply with law, investigate misuse, or stop providing the service to an ineligible minor.
Disclaimers and liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Hoglet is provided on an as-is and as-available basis. The operator does not guarantee that the service or any AI-generated output will be uninterrupted, error-free, accurate, complete, or suitable for a particular purpose.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss arising from use of or inability to use Hoglet. Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies a consumer guarantee, remedy, or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted, or modified.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand. This does not remove any mandatory consumer rights or protections that apply to you under the laws of the country or region where you live.
Changes to these Terms
These Terms may be updated as Hoglet changes or as legal and operational requirements develop. The last updated date will be revised when the Terms change. If a change materially affects your rights or use of the service, reasonable notice will be provided through the app, website, or another appropriate channel.
